The Refynix platform is architected, secured, and maintained by Paragon Consultants, who act as our technical service provider and infrastructure manager.

When you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
User Portal Access
When you log into the Refynix User Portal:

Login cookies persist for two days; screen option cookies persist for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login session will persist for two weeks.
Performance Optimisation
We use local storage and caching to accelerate the delivery of technical assets, interactive elements, and PDF resources. These technologies do not track your browsing behaviour across other websites.

2. User Portal & PDF Resource Access
When you register for access to our PDF reports, technical resources, or analytical tools, you enter into a service relationship with Refynix.
Managed Infrastructure
Your registration data (name and email address) is processed and stored within secure, UK‑based infrastructure managed by Paragon Consultants. This environment is optimised for:
- data integrity
- high‑speed delivery of technical resources
- secure authentication
- controlled access to restricted materials
Communications (Legitimate Interests)
As part of your registration, we may send you:
- technical updates
- industry insights
- platform notices
- new report releases
- relevant analytical commentary
These communications are processed under the lawful basis of Legitimate Interests, as they relate directly to the services and resources you have requested in a professional capacity.
You may opt out of these communications at any time using the “Unsubscribe” link included in our emails.
Analytical Tracking
To improve our resource quality and understand user demand, we monitor:
- which PDF reports are accessed
- which technical resources are downloaded
- general usage patterns within the User Portal
This tracking is limited to our platform and is used solely to refine and improve our technical output.
3. Index Contributors
If you participate in the Refynix UK Residual Waste Spot Gate Fee Index or the Refynix UK RDF Export Price Index, we collect and process:
- contact details of the nominated representative (name and email)
- company name and registered details
- monthly pricing submissions (spot gate fees or RDF export prices)
Legal Basis
This data is processed under contract performance, in accordance with the Data Contributor Confidentiality Agreement signed by each contributor.
Confidentiality & Data Handling
- Individual pricing submissions are strictly confidential.
- No individual submission is ever disclosed publicly.
- Only aggregated and anonymised quartile ranges are published.
- Access to raw submission data is restricted to authorised Refynix personnel.
Use of Aggregated Data
Aggregated and anonymised historical data may be used to produce:
- trend reports
- regional analyses
- historical datasets
- commercial analytical products
These outputs contain no identifiable contributor data.
Retention
- Contact details are retained for the duration of your participation.
- Individual pricing submissions are retained for 24 months after withdrawal for audit and compliance purposes, then securely deleted.
- Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained indefinitely.
No Data Sales or Transfers
We do not sell contributor data or transfer it to third parties.
4. Embedded Content
Articles on the Refynix website may include embedded content (e.g., videos, external data visualisations). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited the external website directly.
These external sites may:
- collect data about you
- use cookies
- embed third‑party tracking
- monitor your interaction with the embedded content
We do not control these external systems.
5. Data Retention & Your Rights
Retention
- Comments and associated metadata are retained indefinitely.
